DO I NEED TO BOOK ACCOMMODATION FOR THE 3 NIGHTS OF EVENTS (10-13TH AUGUST)? No. We have tentatively reserved accommodation for all guests at the Castello and neighbouring villas/rooms for the three-day event. WILL I NEED TO PAY FOR THE 3 NIGHTS OF ACCOMMODATION? We will be asking for a contribution towards the accommodation. This will be confirmed once we have everyone’s RSVP. IF I'M STAYING AT ACCOMMODATION NEARBY, HOW WILL I GET TO AND FROM THE CASTELLO? We will be coordinating transfers to and from the Castello on the wedding day. For the welcome evening and recovery we recommend booking a taxi or car pooling. Most accomodation is situated within a 10 minute drive of the venue. WHAT IF I WANT TO BOOK MY OWN ACCOMMODATION FOR THE 3 NIGHTS? This is absolutely fine, and we understand you may want to arrange your own accommodation. If this is the case, please let us know as soon as possible so we can update our accommodation numbers.
SHOULD I BOOK A CAR? As the Castello is located close to the main town of Assisi, a car is not essential. There are a number of local taxi and transfer companies if you prefer not to drive. However, if you want to explore other local areas during the day, a car may be more convenient and there is parking onsite. WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WANT TO BOOK A GROUP TRANSFER? WILL THERE BE A GIFT REGISTRY? We are so grateful for the huge effort you are putting in to attend our wedding, so please no gifts - your presence is all we need!
WHAT IS THE WEATHER IN AUGUST GOING TO BE? Umbria in August will be hot during the days with temperatures approx. 30-35 degrees. The events will be taking place in the late afternoon/early evening to enjoy the cooler hours of the day and the colours of the Tuscan sunsets! We recommend packing light summer clothes. August can also have summer storms - so it’s up to the weather gods what we get!
ARE CHILDREN INVITED? We are so lucky to have gorgeous bubs and young children in our families and we would love them to be part of the celebrations! However, for the wedding day, the Castello can assist to arrange babysitters so you can enjoy the day and dance the night away.
SHOULD I ORGANISE ANYTHING DURING THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENTS? This is totally up to you - the Castello has beautiful grounds, a tennis court, pool and spa area, for all wedding guests to exclusively enjoy over the 3 days. However, if you feel like more adventure, there is no shortage of activities in the area. You may want to visit one of the many wineries in the region or visit the old town of Assisi and the Basilica.
