George Clooney bought his now infamous 18th-century, 30 room Villa Oleandra in 2001, it was originally part of the Heinz ketchup family estate.

In 2021 the villa has been used to film some scenes of the movie "House of Gucci".

In the spring of 2006, the movie Casino Royale was filmed in front of the villa. The same villa can also be seen in Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones as the wedding scene of Anankin.

In 2004, the villa served as a filming location for the movie Ocean's Twelve. In early 2005, singer Gwen Stefani, shot the music video for her 2005 single, Cool.
