Would you believe us if we said we met in jail? Well, it's true! Devin was working as a correctional officer and Haley was a nurse! Even better, we had the most romantic first encounter, Devin needed a COVID test. Haley was still training at the time, when her new friend and coworker Hannah introduced her to Devin, while also giving him a COVID test. Update, his test was indeed positive.

We took our first little family vacation, just the 4 of us. We actually went to visit family down in Florida, and our family had planned us a photo shoot on the beach! (Plot twist, the family who planned the photo shoot had no clue what was going to happen.) The entire trip (10.5 hours) I, (Haley), made several remarks about how this would be the most perfect opportunity to propose, if only Devin had a ring. Devin is not good with secrets, you can read his face too easily, I was convinced it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Fast forward to taking photos on the beach, the girls absolutely HATED the sand. Screaming, crying children, how much more romantic can it get? Devin requested us 2 to have photos taken, which I thought was odd, but I went along with it. During one of the photos Devin asked me to "not be mad", to which I replied, "for what?" Well there he is, down on one knee in the sand, holding a little black box containing the most beautiful ring. It was perfect.
