Our budding romance began in elementary school, but wasn't official until sealed with a kiss at the top of the Sears Tower on a class trip to Chicago in middle school. After leading our class as President (Katie) and Vice President (Jake) for three years in high school, we went our separate ways until February of 2018, when Katie visited Jake in their current home of Dallas, Texas. Through many visits between Cincinnati and Dallas, we fell in love and knew that we needed to make one city our home. Katie and our dog, Fitz, made the move to Dallas, and our love for one another grew even more.
On a February weekend, we flew home to Cincinnati to spend some time with Katie's family. Unbeknownst to Katie, Jake had a plan. After breakfast on Saturday morning, Olivia (Katie's younger sister) and Cy (Katie's brother-in-law) drove Jake and Katie to Mt. Adams, where they made a short stop at the Holy Cross Immaculata Church to take in the glorious view of downtown Cincinnati. After waiting for a moment alone, Jake popped the question. Katie said YES! We celebrated with a surprise gathering of family and friends, and toasted the exciting news.
