About Our Wedding

We've decided to have a small and intimate destination wedding with immediate family and a few close friends! While we wish everyone could come celebrate, we felt this was the right option for us. For everyone not attending, we would love to set up a time to celebrate with you! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Our Story

Owen and I met our freshman year of college. The first time I heard about Owen was from his friends who, without his knowledge, were trying to get me to ask him to a formal our college was throwing. Not knowing anything else about him, I was a bit awkward around him when we met. Slowly we became great friends, and we spent the rest of our years at college failing escape rooms, penny boarding, and visiting the zoo. After school, we continued to keep in touch and hang out as friends multiple times a week. At this point, it did not cross either of our minds that we would ever be anything more than friends. When Owen first told me he thought we should date, I was so worried about our friendship… so much so I basically said that it would never happen. Six months later, we were sitting in my car after trivia night, and I confessed that I may have been wrong. Thanks to Owen’s patience and grace, we went on our first date a few weeks later. The transition from friends to dating was filled with so much fun and sweetness and we’re so excited to continue this into our marriage. - Olivia

The Proposal

I asked Olivia if she wanted to go on a day trip to Whidbey to visit some of her favorite places. We started the day with Whidbey Coffee, then explored some shops, seeing the places she grew up, and a long walk on West Beach. I think Olivia was onto my plan early on in the day, but there was something so sweet to both of us anticipating what was coming. The day was filled with discussing memories about our relationship, and lots of reassuring smiles. Close to sunset we drove to Fort Ebey. We walked to the bluff overlooking the Puget Sound. With lots of excitement, and some nerves, I got down on one knee. Instant tears filled our eyes but I somehow managed to get the words out and propose to Olivia. We’re so thankful our friend Jess was there to capture the moment. Afterwards we celebrated by getting a nice dinner on the water just the two of us. We could not stop smiling, and it was so fun to slowly start sharing the news with our family and friends. It was a perfect day. - Owen
