Flight
Vancouver is served by one major international airport, YVR. Upon arrival, you will be able to access the city in several ways. There are rental car options at the airport, Uber/Lyft, or the Skytrain can take you directly in to the city. Instructions to get to suggested hotels at the Shipyards District and Downtown can be found below. Public transportation in Vancouver is some of the most efficient and safest in North America.
Train
Upon Landing at YVR, follow signs in the airport saying "Train to City", you can pay for the train by tapping your credit card at the turnstyles. To get to the shipyards district, you will board the Canada Line and ride it to Waterfront Station which is the terminus station. The ride should take about 25-30 mins. After you arrive at Waterfront station, you will go out through more turnstyles (make sure you tap the SAME credit card to avoid getting charged twice) and up an escalator. Follow signs for the Seabus. It will be to your left. Upon arriving at the seabus turnstyles, tap your credit card again and walk down to the terminal. This boat will take you across Vancouver Harbour to Lonsdale Quay and the Shipyards district. You will be a 2-3 minute walk from any of the three hotels. If you choose to stay Downtown, Waterfront station will put you a short walk from Coal Harbour, and Yaletown-Roundhouse station will put you right in the heart of Yaletown, about 300 feet from one of the suggested hotels.
Travel Note
The Shipyards district is located in North Vancouver, BC. Located right on the on the water in Vancouver Harbour, you will be able to get expansive views of Downtown Vancouver. There are three hotels in the shipyards district, several restaurants and coffee shops, a public market, as well as 7 craft breweries within walking distance. It is a 20 minute drive from the venue and a 30-45 minute drive from the airport depending on traffic and 45 minutes by public transit.

Travel Note
Staying in the Downtown Peninsula will give you more of a big city feel. If you are so inclined, we recommend staying in Yaletown (our neighbourhood) or Coal Harbour. We have provided hotel recommendations for both neighbourhoods. Vancouver has a couple of pockets of not-so-savoury areas, so please don't hesitate to reach out to Owen before you book a hotel outside of our suggestions to make sure you enjoy your time as much as possible.
Hotel
This is a good option in Coal Harbour, puts you close to the waterfront with lots of cool tourist destinations, as well as great food and drink spots. A close walk to both the Stanley Park and the Convention Center. Lots of great hotels within a few blocks of this one too, if you are looking for something else.
Hotel
This hotel is only about a 3 minute walk from where we live. Right in the core of Yaletown, you will be surrounded by great coffee shops, restaurants and bars and have close access to the Seawall and David Lam park for walks. It certainly can be busy and loud, so may be a better option for someone looking to get a true Downtown Vancouver experience.
