Tis the Season to be married!

January 2022: Owen was rotating in the hospital, hard at work talking to a gentleman with schizophrenia. Heaven was across the room, talking an elderly gentleman with memory problems. They noticed the calm and comforting sounds of each others voices and made eye contact. They felt an instant attraction. Heaven noted how patient and kind Owen was to his difficult patient. Later, they bumped into each other in the stairwell and said hi and Owen immediately assumed someone so friendly and attractive was taken--because that's how it always worked in Duluth during the pandemic. Imagine his surprise when they later matched on Hinge that week. He knew he had to impress, so he threw down his best lame jokes and was overjoyed to see Heaven thought they were very funny. The rest is history. Meeting in the hospital might sound like the start of a rom com. But our journey has been full of many ups and downs. We have both had serious medical conditions and have both been hospitalized during our relationship. We were also diagnosed with infertility (IVF is our only option at the chance of a family). We have experienced the "in sickness and in health" sooner than we expected. But there were many wins too. We celebrated Owen finishing residency and Heaven passing Acute Care boards. Not to mention we took an amazing trip to Europe and got engaged on top of a beautiful mountain. Even though there have been equal lows as there have been highs and this year was a particularly tough one for us, we couldn't be more excited to make it official and GET MARRIED! And we are so excited to do this surrounded by all of our friends and family who we love! See you guys there! Cheers!
