GPS Marker for Trailhead: 43°22'26.23"N, 73°57'01.76"W Liz and I hiked this trail on Feb 11th 2023. It is a quick Adirondack 3.6 mile round trip with gorgeous views of Gore Mtn, The McIntyre Range and Potash Mountain. There's even an old ranger cabin up near the firetower for the summit stewards!

Spruce Mountain Fire Tower

Spruce Mountain Fire Tower

Corinth, NY 12859

43.2018389, -73.8957743 GPS For Trailhead The parking lot and trailhead are located on the end of Spruce Mountain road in Corinth. From the trailhead, the trail winds through the woods for 1.3 miles to the summit, gaining approximately 1000 feet of elevation along the way. As you begin your climb, a little past the trail sign in box, keep an eye to the left as there is a natural spring pool where you can see the spring water bubbling from the ground. Liz and I hiked this on 7/7/24 and enjoyed some great brews at the summit!

Shelving Rock Climbing Area

Shelving Rock Climbing Area

Shelving Rock Road, Fort Ann, NY 12827

FOR THE CLIMBERS Liz and I frequent this area when we are visiting her family in Clifton Park. It is about 45-50 minutes from Saratoga. If you need recommendations I am happy to give them or I can shoot you some images from ADK ROCK GUIDEBOOK. Shelving Rock is a destination cliff on the east side of Lake George. The approach is short 5-20min depending on which wall you go to. The views of Lake George are first class. There are over 75 routes ranging from 5.5 to 5.12+. Many of the climbs are modern trad (gear and bolts). There are also many straight up sport climbs. Some walls get direct sun and some are shady giving the climber options depending on weather conditions. This cliff is awesome if you are climbing anywhere near Lake George it is well worth it. Note: Helmets are recommended for climber and belayer. Lots of choss was cleaned during development but occasionally more loose rock is encountered.
