We both attended college at UW-Platteville. Jake worked in a café on campus, and I regularly visited that café for my morning coffee and after-class snacks. One day, Jake caught my eye because of a unique outfit he wore but I could never muster up the courage to introduce myself. Several weeks later, he popped up in my “suggested friends” on Facebook and I decided to take the leap and add him. We started chatting online almost immediately and our first conversation consisted of getting to know each other. By the end of the night, we had probably sent hundreds of messages back and forth. That day, we had even joked about getting married because we had so much in common. Little did we know... The first time we met in person, our conversations flowed effortlessly. There wasn’t a single moment that we hadn’t felt like we’d known each other for years. We were instant best friends. We continued to see each other the next day, and the next day, and the next day... Fast forward a few months - it’s March 15, 2016 and although we had known all along, this was the day that we decided to start “officially” dating. And the rest is history! Here we are almost 6 years later, getting ready to say “I Do” and planning the wedding we had joked about on Day 1. We had no idea that we would come to mean this much to each other, and that a friendly joke about marrying each other would become real. But we wouldn't trade a minute of it for the world. - Megan
