We met in anatomy class in high school. Neither one of us talked to the other much at first - Owen really just stopped to tell me that he thought I had something in my eye. It wasn't until college move-in day that we became friends. One weekend, everyone went home except me since my whole family was sick. Unbeknownst to me, Owen was pre-making banana bread in an elaborate plan to ask me on a date. He came back to campus early and asked me to come watch the oven in our communal kitchen to preheat with him. I was confused but tired of staying holed up in my room, so I said yes (my first of many with him). The next day, he asked me on our first date to Surin in downtown Birmingham (highly recommend). We have stayed by each other's sides through every military obligation, academic achievement, and beginning of our careers for 4 (almost 5! years). We were engaged on March 13th of 2025 and could not be more excited to spend the rest of our lives together!
