She said yes! But you already knew that seeing as you are visiting our Wedding Website. Seth and Sierra met via a dating app in late 2020 however this story starts long before even that with a shared family friend, Marly Jeane. Marly and Sierra have been best friends since first grade. Marly and Seth have been family friends since the advent of water in Sonoma. When Sierra saw Marly pictured in Seth's dating profile, she accidentally connected with Seth in an attempt to screenshot the photo. You might say the rest is history, but you’re still reading so let’s continue. The end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 were marred by COVID-19 shutdowns making dating life difficult. Though Sierra wouldn’t normally accept a first date hike in the woods with a total stranger, she took a risk (she is a black belt after all) and met Seth for a rainy day hike up Taylor Mountain. The connection was immediate and so another rainy day hike to Shiloh Ridge came shortly after. Then Helen Putman. Then Jenner Headlands. There wasn’t a Regional Park in Sonoma County that wasn’t explored by these two. After some time they were even able to sit down at a restaurant to share a meal together as the COVID restrictions eased. It was at Sally Tomatoes when Seth inadvertently introduced Sierra as his girlfriend - to someone she already knew of course. Other big moments followed with seemingly effortless grace. Their parents met at Crooked Goat. The first “I love you” came in Reno Nevada. But alas it all culminated in early 2023 when Seth and Sierra became Costco Members together. The occasion was marked with individual photos that still travel with them to this day on their respective cards. After that, the September 2024 proposal was a foregone conclusion and two are excited to wed in October of 2025. Our history is defined by whoopsies and “unprecedented times” but through it all we cherish our story and are excited to write more with our wonderful friends and family. Our journey together began with scenic hikes through Sonoma County and Marin County. Along the way, we’ve supported each other as we’ve grown in our careers and education. Our favorite shared passion is going on adventures, whether traveling the world or exploring our own backyard here in Sonoma County. Now, we’re thrilled to take this next step and celebrate with you the beginning of our new journey together as husband and wife.
