Our love story

From high school sweethearts to saying yes to forever!

It all started on a high school rugby field, the kind of day where the air is filled with competition, and crowds are shouting, but somehow, in the middle of all the chaos, time slowed down for me. He was wearing jersey #13, completely unaware that across the field, I had already decided, before I even knew his name, that he was my husband. Not boyfriend. Not crush. Husband. I remember thinking, that’s him. That’s the one! Meanwhile, in a completely different scene, he caught sight of me and went home to tell his mom, “There’s a girl… she’s the one I want to be with someday.” Seventeen, clueless, wildly unaware, but God was already writing a story far bigger than either of us could imagine. From seventeen to twenty-five, our love grew. Six years of it were written across thousands of miles, thousands of late-night FaceTime calls filled with bad Wi-Fi, frozen screens, and “Can you hear me?”. Laughter that turned into sighs of longing. There were moments of missing each other so badly it hurt, moments where distance felt like it would break us, but through it all, God was quietly at work, teaching us patience, faithfulness, and what it really means to love. And then everything shifted. When we surrendered our lives, our hearts, and our relationship fully to Jesus, the love we had always felt turned into the kind of love God had designed for us. Suddenly, waiting became worship. Distance became a lesson in trust. Love became sweeter, stronger, and so much more joyful. We began to love each other in the way God intended, selflessly, tenderly, and with a kind of passion only He can write. What once felt uncertain became steady. What once felt fragile became strong. A random rugby game, a bold nickname (husband), and two teenagers became proof that when you place your love in God’s hands, He doesn’t just bring two people together, He teaches them how to love in a way that lasts, writes beauty into every season, and turns a simple beginning into forever.
