We had our first date at the Lighthouse Cafe at Marina Park In Newport Beach! Jared knew that Stephanie had always wanted to visit the local fish market and so he offered to drive her there at 5am. They went to the fish Market, bought some fish, and watched the sunrise. However when it was time to go Jared said "Why don't we eat some breakfast?" and Stephanie, who never backs down from a yummy meal, of course said yes. He took her over to the most charming cozy beach cafe she had ever visited, the Lighthouse Cafe! After the meal he decided to take her 'the long way round' back to car and as they walked across the coastline he put his arm around her and said "I always knew I would marry my best friend, will you go out with me?" At this time Stephanie started laughing because who asks someone out with a marriage proposal?!?! But once she realized he was intentional about pursuing her- she said yes. After they drove home, Jared went straight to her parents and asked for their blessing for him to pursue Stephanie and they said yes too!

We got engaged at our happy place, Disney California Adventures! Jared prepared an elaborate and secretive plan to propose by the Carthay Circle Fountain in the grand entrance of DCA. Stephanie adores the Disney Resorts and shared that love with Jared so he knew he had to propose to her at the parks. However, due to Covid-19 all the parks closed down. Through Gods perfect timing though, Disneyland California Adventures happened to open for just a few short weeks! Just in time for a proposal! Jared had her brother Josh, and her sister Jessica wait at the park to prepare the perfect spot and hide in waiting. Jared made a proposal box designed after the iconic balloon present box from one of her favorite games, Animal Crossing! Stephanie curiously approached the box and when Jared told her to open it found a giant plush toy of her favorite dog, a corgi! But when Stephanie turned around to thank Jared, he was on his knee ready to propose. She said yes! Jared then surprised her with a reservation to Carthay Circle where they shared their first meal as an engaged couple.
