Maya and I met on a dating app in the midst of COVID. My clever wit and devilish looks were simply too much to pass. For our first date, I suggesting buying her dinner to be delivered to her house and we have a video date. After the first time I heard her voice and saw her smile, I knew she was someone special. Days later we met in person for a walk in her neighborhood and lunch. Hearing her laugh and holding her hand made time stand still. In that moment I knew I met the woman I had only dreamed of and never realized actually existed. The rest is history. - Otto
I had just returned from an anxious 3 month stay at my parent’s house, where we spent days holed up at home, wiping down groceries and masking up on socially distant walks. I had only been back home in SF for a few days and matched with a new, sweet-looking guy, on Hinge. Otto called me on the phone and we chatted for hours - I had never felt more comfortable or more like myself on a first “date”. We went on to have a video date where he famously ordered dinner to be delivered to my apartment. I wavered on giving him my address since we hadn’t met in person and my friend Hannah reminded me to “never say no to a free dinner”. A beautiful multi-course dinner was delivered to my door under the name “Nicolas” and left me confused - he explained the nickname “Otto” after his middle name, Atahualpa. We met up in person days later, and have been together ever since. Otto immediately felt like family to me and I’m so grateful for our love. - Maya
