While Mike and Chelsea were both in Lincoln, Lakeside, and PLHS at the same time, their paths didn't cross much. Over a decade later, Mike was in need of a plus one for a wedding and Jen stepped in to play matchmaker. Mike sent Chelsea a Facebook message and after a little back and forth Mike asked Chelsea to the wedding and Chelsea said yes. We had an amazing time chatting on our way to the shore for the wedding and danced the night away. We had our next date less than a week later followed by Brew at the Zoo and the rest is history. Thanks to that wedding and Jen's matchmaking, we'll be heading down the aisle ourselves!
Chelsea was starting a new job and decided to get her nails done with her mom before her first day. Since it was a rainy day, Chelsea left the house with absolutely no makeup and her hair barely brushed...she clearly had no idea what would be waiting for her when she returned home. Mike greeted her at the door and as he opened it, her eyes started to tear up as she saw bouquets of flowers everywhere, rose petals leading to a heart of candles, and a bottle of champagne on the table. Mike got down on one knee and Chelsea started to cry because she couldn't be happier knowing they would be spending the rest of their lives together. Mike proposed with a ring filled with nearly 100 years of love - it is Chelsea's Nana's engagement stone on her Pa's wedding band that Bonnie wore until Mike asked for Chelsea's parents blessing. While at a lovely dinner at Novelli, Bailey, Brendan, Bonnie, and Ted decorated the house with banners, balloons, and photos. Mike had coordinated a get together for our families the following day, cooking up an incredible feast to celebrate our love. The proposal was perfect in every way.
