FAQs

Question

What is the wedding dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal beach wedding attire. For men, this means Khaki, linen, cotton type slacks with a button down shirt. For women, examples are knee-length or floor-length dresses. Flat shoes / sandals are perfect. For women, please note the wedding will be held on a wooden bridge that has slight separations between planks - keep this in mind if you choose to wear heels.

Question

Can I stay at a different hotel?

Answer

No, you cannot stay at a different hotel. We really need all of our guests to stay at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen hotel. If you do not stay there, we have to pay extra $ for you to attend our wedding (since it's an all-inclusive hotel, it will require an entry fee for the day). And we are trying to keep our wedding costs down, so PLEASE PLEASE stay at the hotel. Thank you!

Question

Do I need to bring cash? And do I need Mexican pesos?

Answer

Yes, bring cash in USD. We recommend you bring $100-200 in cash in $1 bills so you can trip the bars and restaurants. Also, bring additional cash if you want to buy souvenirs (because smaller shops may not accept credit card). You likely won't need any Mexican pesos, because every place generally accepts credit card or cash in US dollars. If you're using a credit card, make sure you have a card that has 0 foreign transaction fees to avoid spending unnecessary money.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes and no. Kids are allowed at the hotel at the La Esmeralda (family side). They are not allowed on the adult side of hotel. Kids are allowed at the wedding ceremony on the Gabi Bridge, but unfortunately they are NOT allowed at the reception at the La Perla Palapas because this is on the adult side of hotel. We sincerely apologize for this if you do decide to bring kids. The hotel has a 24 hour babysitting service for additional cost. If you don't trust a babysitter, we kindly ask that you and your partner take turns attending the reception. Or you can also go anywhere else in hotel to eat dinner because it's all-inclusive. Or we can make you a plate of food from our reception! :)
