We're On The Run to The Altar to Say “I Do”!

In 2006 in Chattanooga, TN at Brainerd High School Chris & Minique crossed paths. Chris was a new transfer student who played basketball for the varsity team, Minique was a cheerleader. They met on a limb one afternoon before school ended. Chris walked into Mr. Bacon’s class where Minique was with his friend Fred. Fred actually introduced the two. After that day Chris and Fred would make random appearances in Mr. Bacon’s class just to say Hi, but this never caught Minique's attention. The following semester Chris, and Minique were placed in Algebra II together. Chris was able to sit behind Minique, as the class helped the two become more acquainted. They later exchanged numbers at a Basketball game once Chris bought Mini a pack of "Wild Berry Skittles". This night would change everything. Following the game Minique let her friend/ cheer mate JaQuita know what had happened, but of course Minique was too afraid to call, so as a friend Quita called Chris on three-way. Little did they all know this would be the beginning to their forever. Now here they are today 13 years later, ready to say "I Do" to forever as the Thompson's.

Chris's 28th Birthday was coming up, so I wanted to do something special. I wanted to surprise him with a birthday party. I invited close friends and family from Chicago, to Chattanooga. I even snuck in his phone to get contacts for close co-workers and relatives. I had the entire party planned out without Chris having a clue (at least that's what I thought). Upon arriving to the party we we're greeted at the door with a huge shout of "SURPRISE" by faces Chris hadn't seen in ages. I felt so accomplished and happy I was able to pull off such a great surprise. Well, as I celebrated my victory in surprising Chris, a recording began to play. It was Chris's voice telling me he knew all about the party and he had a surprise of his own for me. Chris asked me to have a seat in a chair as he gave me 12 reasons why he loved me. For each reason I was given a rose. Every rose made me laugh or cry. It was such a meaningful moment. Especially when my Father brought out the final rose. Following my Dad was Chris with a ring asking me to spend forever with him. I said "of course!"
