I decided to tag-along with a friend to the Labor Day fireworks in Newport, KY. I posted on Snapchat a couple of photos and then we went home. On the way home, my friend texted me and told me he was at the fireworks too! I hadn’t seen him in awhile so I asked if he wanted to hang out and he said, “Sure, I’m with my two other friends because it’s his 21st and we’re drunk.” I replied, “that’s fine, I have beers.” Thirty minutes later, they all come over and are talking, hanging out with us. I didn’t talk much to Otis because he was the birthday boy and in his own little drunken world with our mutual friend. They were talking about how it was hot in the living room and our mutual friend told him to ask me to turn on the air and as he said this, the air conditioning came on and Otis goes, “ask and you shall receive.” This was the moment I knew he was the one. The next day, I was talking to my roommates about our mutual friend and his friends and I commented how I thought Otis was cute. My roommate started taunting me and said she was going to tell our mutual friend how I had a crush on his friend. I said, “go for it,” thinking nothing would come of it. Fifteen minutes later, I got a friend request on Facebook and a message from Otis saying, “long time no see,” and the rest is history. 💕
