The common denominator in this union is none other than our beloved Romeo, childhood best friend of the groom and cousin of the bride. Having grown up alongside Romeo, Oz was around the bride's family for over 22 years before properly introducing himself to Nena. Interestingly enough, they would run into each other on multiple occasions, just barely getting the chance to share small conversations. The first memory of their paths crossing involves a Fear Factor themed birthday party that they both attended at an elementary school age. Nearly two decades would go by before Oz is re-introduced to Nena during a family party in the summer of 2021. A year later, Oz and Nena would reconvene for a quick "Hi" and "Bye" at another family party. Fast forward to October 2022, on a late Sunday evening, Oz and Nena would reconnect for a final time before finally realizing that their lifelong partner had been roaming around all along. That night, conversations sparked interest, and the rest is history.

You always hear that the person you spend the rest of your life with comes around when you least expect it. In the early days of Nena and Oz's relationship they constantly joked about their desire to run away together and elope. What they didn't account for is the amount of love that they would share for each other's families as their relationship deepened. Oz kept the engagement ring in his back pocket trying to figure out when and how to ask. June 12, 2023, Oz would finally bend the knee to ask for Nena's hand in marriage while overlooking the city of Honolulu from a balcony on the 46th floor.
