We are having an Irish wedding. Kilts are optional. Dress semi-formal to formal. Wedding colors are green, beige, and gold.
Uh, duh. Of course! It's an O'Shea wedding. Non-alcoholic options will also be available.
It is likely to be warm during the day (80-90 degrees). It is not uncommon for us to have a brief rain shower in the afternoon. Then, the sun will come out. Evenings are comfortable. Good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater, though.
There will be a program at the church for you to follow along and celebrate our faith with us. If you wish to take communion with us, Father Baron asks that you be in a state of grace prior to partaking of the eucharist, i.e. confession within the last year. Any questions, feel free to text us. 719-964-1344
After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures for about 45 minutes. Cocktail hour at the Warehouse Restaurant begins at 4:15pm. For that hour before the reception starts, if you are going to be drinking, this may be a good time to park the car at home and Uber to the reception. FYI, it is about a 30 min drive from the church to the reception.
Since this is a small wedding (about 60 guests), we request that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony. We want to make sure everyone gets seated on time. While seated in the church, we ask that our guests respect the sacredness of the church and quietly socialize. Please turn off all cell phones. If you have small children, we suggest bringing a quiet activity to keep them busy if they are fidgety. (no digital devices, please). There is plenty of church parking.
No, we do not have a gift registry. However, if you wish to gift, we prefer a donation to our honeymoon fund. Look under "Registry" on this website for details.
You are welcome to take pics. But, we will have a professional photographer getting all those good shots. No pictures during the mass. And, we ask that you please do not come into the aisle during the ceremony to take pics. You are welcome to share your pictures using #osheawedding2021.
If you are looking for a place to stay there are many hotels, Airbnb's, and bed and breakfasts in Colorado Springs. Our house is close to downtown. And, our wedding reception is downtown Colorado Springs. Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City are also close to downtown. And, they have good lodging options. If you are uncertain about a particular area, just ask us before you book. And, we can give you ideas for the best areas in the city.
