Our Story

Bridget and Ryan met on the Army West Point Swim Team, becoming close friends during her sophomore year and his junior year. Every Friday morning, they shared a lane for kick sets with bridesmaid Molly Webber. That September, Ryan started attending Mass at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Bridget and Molly, and the three would usually have brunch together afterwards. One weekend, Molly was out of town, so Bridget invited him to brunch after church. The two had a wonderful time talking about swimming, family, and everything in between. There was (and still is) some confusion if it was a 'real' date or not... They became closer friends, and in February, Bridget sent an encouraging message to Ryan for his end-of-season swim meet, which changed everything. Ryan decided when he returned from the meet, he needed to ask her on an official date. February 14th, 2024, was both Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day. They went to Church together, and about half an hour after Mass, Ryan knocked on her door with a beautiful bouquet and a handwritten note. She was so happy that she forgot about the box of Valentine's Day chocolates hidden in her desk for him. After she gave Ryan his chocolates the following day, Ryan asked her to dinner. Their first date was at Cosimo's, an Italian restaurant, and ended after four hours of laughter and conversation in the car at Arvin parking lot. A few weeks later, on their second date, Ryan asked Bridget to be his girlfriend. Since then, Ryan and Bridget have grown closer in faith, love, and friendship. After almost exactly a year and a half of dating, Ryan asked Bridget to marry him on the beach in Ocean City on August 30, 2025. They are incredibly excited for the next chapter of their lives together and are very grateful to everyone who is celebrating their union with them on this special day.

History of the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor

The Yacht Club of Stone Harbor has been part of the island’s waterfront community for more than a century. The club originated in 1909, when a group of boating enthusiasts formed the Stone Harbor Yacht Club to enjoy sailing and powerboating along the Jersey shore. The club was incorporated as a nonprofit in January 1910 and officially opened on July 4, 1910. Early members enjoyed the harbor’s racing course and waterfront setting, and the clubhouse was widely admired for its beautiful bungalow-style design. The club faced financial challenges during World War I and closed in 1918 after many members had left to serve in the war. But in 1929, a new group of investors purchased and restored the property, renaming it the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor. The club reopened with a regatta and dance on August 3, 1929. Since then, it has remained the perfect venue for sailing, dining, and celebrating special occasions.
