We probably crossed paths several times before we ever danced with each other. If you didn't know, we are avid salsa dancers and have been for years. One fateful day, I finally asked Nancy to dance and she said "no," but added, "I'm taking a break, but I'll come back." I said, "Okay," but I thought she would probably forget about me. I didn't think much of it, but she found me later that night and asked if I still wanted to dance and I said, "Yes." We finally got out on the dance floor. I wish I could tell you that we danced in perfect harmony that first time, but we were out of sync. It was still a fun dance. We laughed and smiled the entire song. After the dance, I walked her off the dance floor and she said, "Thank you," and kissed both my cheeks, European style. Months later, I asked her why she kissed both my cheeks and she said that she didn't know, she just thought it was something I would do. We've probably danced a thousand times since then, and each time still feels like the first time. I always ask her to dance and she always says yes, unless she needs a break. I can't wait for our first dance as husband and wife.
