How they met

It was Kseniya’s first day at a new school. Again. She had changed schools so many times that by now, she knew the drill—the curious glances, the uncomfortable introductions, the feeling of being an outsider until further notice. Here we go again, she thought. She clutched her books to her chest like armor. Her fingers pressed into their spines, as if gripping them tighter might steady her nerves. At that same moment, Oscar, ever the restless spirit, was weaving through the corridor, his mind elsewhere, his stride quick. Then—fate struck. Their worlds collided (literally). Oscar barreled straight into Kseniya, sending her books tumbling like scattered confetti. He didn’t just knock her books to the ground. He brought down her defenses. Her armor! She was just about to give him a piece of her mind when she noticed his piercing gaze staring straight through her. For a heartbeat, the world stood still. In that one reckless, unthinking moment, he had somehow broke straight through to her heart. She didn’t know it yet, but that was his superpower. People softened and opened up around Oscar. They became more themselves. That day, without even trying, he did the same to Kseniya. Then came the awkward laughter, the rushed apologies, and the scramble to collect the books. It was love at first sight—well… that’s how Kseniya remembers it. Oscar, meanwhile, muttered an apology, handed her the last book, and sprinted off—blissfully unaware he’d just met his future wife. Some people realize they’ve met the love of their life right away. Others need a little more time. At least he helped pick up the books. He had the rest of his life to figure out the rest.
