You & Me, Me & You

Oscar worked with my mom and his sisters to help make this day so special. COVID and the recent fires changed up plans multiple times, but it was a perfect day. Sarahi came to visit and took me out of the house while Oscar was at "work". Then our families and Oscar went to my house and set up the backyard for a proposal party. We came home and he was on his knee and around the corner our families were waiting to surprise me. I burst into tears of joy and loved being with our families that night. Shortly after Oscar and my mom told me that when Oscar asked for my parents blessing my mom gave Oscar the diamond from my Nana's ring. Tears filled my eyes again... not only do I get to marry my best friend but I will forever have a piece of my Nana with me now.

We were introduced in the Summer of 2016. It started off as texting then a few weeks later he came out to take me on our first date. City Santa Rosa boy came out to little French Camp in July in a long sleeve and pants and the whole night I was thinking wow he must not know what this central valley weather is like. Usually first dates are awkward, but ours was not. We had 4 dates in one night and it was so much fun. I could instantly be myself around him and knew that was special. We didn't want the night to end, and when I was getting dropped off at home I was hoping he would come back again. The weeks went on and he kept driving 2 hours every weekend to see me. At the end of August we made it official and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Long- distance was rough but we made it work. Driving long distances, meeting in San Francisco, and more. I am so happy we endured every hard time and made it through to be where we are now.
