Nick & I met in September of 2018 through an online dating app called Tinder. I know, I know, what were we thinking right?! Funny thing is, neither one of us were looking for anything serious, but we see how that turned out, haha! As we all know, online dating can be a sketchy thing so of course precautions were taken prior to meeting in person, but we had our first official date at a Braum’s in Tyler, TX. Nick was working on the road during that time and shortly after our first date he was called to a jobsite in New Mexico. Neither one of us knew if it would actually turn into anything, but we wanted to at least keep in touch. Ya know what they say, “absence makes the heart grow fonder” so it didn’t take long before we took turns making trips back and forth. As you can see, our “not looking for anything serious” mindset quickly changed. As the road life goes, Nick was called to many different states and wherever he went, my heart went with him. Long distance is hard and definitely not for everybody, but we made it work.
It didn’t take long before we both realized we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and on April 15, 2019 Nick proposed. The proposal was perfect. Nick took me to him and his best friend’s old fishing spot at Meramec Spring Park and in the middle of a bridge he asked me to marry him. It was quiet, it was peaceful, it was beautiful weather, and it was just us. The definition of perfection. Wedding planning went into high gear as we planned on getting married that November. We were so in love and so ready to be married. Shortly after the proposal, we found out I was pregnant with our amazing little boy, Hunter Cash Hatcher, and so we decided to push the wedding off until November of the following year, which is now! We are so excited for our big day and can’t wait to FINALLY be married and for us to officially be the Hatcher family!
