Josh worked with my Dad for quite a while, and during that time, he got to know him and thought he was just nerdy enough that I would like him. Dad talked to Mom, who asked me how old is too old? (Josh is seven years older than me) I was hesitant at first but took his number and one day texted him. He didn't text back immediately, but I told myself to give him time; if it's God's plan, then we will get together. We texted and eventually started talking (and playing video games) for a while. On February 14th, 2020, Valentine's night, my father brought him home to meet me. The next day, we had a "Texas Day" we went to Gruene, Buccee's, Lunch at El Charro's, and that evening we went to the SA Rodeo, where he met my Aunt's and cousins. Later that evening, he asked me to be his girlfriend.
Like I said before, my Dad thought Josh was just nerdy enough. That's because I love video games, League of Legends, Divinity 2, Apex Legends - Love them all, and it turns out so does Josh. While Josh travels, games are our way of "hanging out" when I can't be with him.
Thanks to his job with World Wind and Solar, Josh has to travel all over the U.S. After a few months of dating, Josh asked me if I would like to visit him in Arizona. We had a great time, and I ended up traveling with him to California (the best little breakfast restaurant by the ocean), Las Vegas (where I got to meet face-to-face with my online best friend, Abby), Reno (wild horses, and off-roading) and Colorado (the mountains were on fire). This time will always be special to me as the time I got to know Josh.
The annual Spring Break camping trip is a massive deal for my family. After Josh and I had already been dating for more than a year, we invited him. It turns out he had something up his sleeve (ok in his pocket) the whole time. One night by the campfire, in front of my family, he asked me to marry him.
