How We Met

First comes school, then comes marriage!

We met in high school during a shared study hall. I didn't think much of it at first, especially when Alex's first words to me were "I think I know where you live". After stumbling over his words a bit, he recovered and managed to explain that we lived in the same neighborhood and he often would see me getting into my car to drive to school in the morning. He then spent several weeks helping me with my math homework (to this day I still say the only reason I got as good of a grade as I did in Algebra 2 is because of his help. Thanks babe!) we realized that things were clicking and that this could be about more than just math.

The Proposal

7.13.19

Alex planned a trip for us to go up to Bayfield WI for a long weekend. I wasn't suspicious at all because he had been planning multiple other trips over the course of the whole summer (sneaky guy). On Saturday when we were there, he was acting strange and I could tell something was going on with him (still completely clueless that it was a proposal). Suddenly he announced, "let's go for a drive to see if we can find a beach somewhere." I thought sure, sounds peaceful. We drove around the coastline for a while until he saw a sign for a beach and pulled off. He then led me all the way down the beach to where it was secluded and said that he wanted to take a picture of the two of us. He pulled his phone tripod out of his backpack and set it up to, what I later found out was to capture the whole moment in a video. He told me he'd had the ring for months and was planning for it to go a totally different way but when the time came, he couldn't wait anymore, he was just too excited! Obviously, I said YES!!
