We met in Manhattan, Kansas at a college bar late one night. Emily was having a girls night out with her friends when the bar was closing and having last call. Emily wasn't ready for the night to end and laid eyes on Nathan from across the room. With a little bit a liquid courage, Emily and her friends went up to Nathan and his friends and began a conversation. When Emily got closer to Nathan she couldn't help but notice his bright blue eyes and said, "wow, you have the most beautiful eyes". He replied "you too" and was shocked. We ended up going to an after party and talked for hours and hours about our dreams, adventures, and future. We had so much in common and we both just wanted to keep getting to know each other more and more. Nathan asked for Emily's number and took her on a date the following night. The rest is history....

We were in Africa traveling when Nathan proposed. We had just come back from a sunset safari ride looking at giraffes and the most beautiful sunset. Nathan had help from the resort and they set up rose petals, candles, and champagne under the African moonlight. It was the most beautiful private proposal that we will never forget.
