Our Story...

As told by Sarah

Brent and I met on Bumble in November 2022. Our match turned into a witty back-and-forth where Brent very quickly figured out that I work in the mental health field. We had plans for our first date… which we promptly had to postpone because of a hurricane. A very Florida start to our story. When we finally did meet, we went to a nearby bar for drinks. Things were going well, so we wandered down the road to another bar to play pool. Brent absolutely kicked my butt and I learned he was once in a league... I never had a chance. When he drove me home that night, we shared our first kiss. Three days later, we had our second date. And then, without ever making a big declaration about it, we just kept choosing each other—week after week. For the first year, our relationship stayed pretty private. Brent met my close circle of friends, but we flew under the radar with family… until we were accidentally “outed” at a Rays vs. Braves game when my mom’s friend—who worked at Tropicana Field—spotted us together. Oops. Then again, when we went to Mobile to see a University of South Alabama football game. Our real hard launch came later that year at my best friend’s New Year’s Eve wedding, where Brent was my date and officially met my mom and all of my friends. In March of 2025, we moved in together—along with my dog, Willow. Brent and Willow quickly formed a very serious bond. She adores him. He spoils her with little bowls of strawberries and carries her around like she’s royalty. For it being his first in-home pet, he’s an excellent dog dad. Over the years, we’ve done life together in both big and small ways: evacuating for a hurricane, spending days on boats, casual nights out for drinks and taco stands, and quiet movie nights at home with creative cocktails. We’ve traveled to Niagara Falls and Toronto, Mobile and Biloxi, gambled in Las Vegas, and explored Zion National Park together. Brent has even gotten me into WWE wrestling—something I never saw coming. Two days before Christmas in 2025, Brent proposed. It was intimate and private—just the two of us. Incredibly special. Very much us. What we’ve built isn’t loud, but it’s deep. It’s intentional. We’re so grateful to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us.
