Lisa at the time was working for Target security & Carlos was working for Holyoke Mall security. One day, Lisa was on snap chat when she noticed a familiar face. She came across a post from Carlos and was sure she knew him but could not figure out from where. She decided to send him a message to find out. They began writing to each other back and forth.

Carlos and Lisa quickly found themselves talking every day and realizing they had a lot in common. Both shared the same career goals of becoming police officers. Since they worked next to each other, they began finding excuses to see each other while working. After a few weeks and a few attempts to meet up, Lisa invited out Carlos for drinks, from there they started hanging out almost every day.

It did not take long for them to become inseparable. From taking random trips together and binge watching tv shows. Even driving out to Boston and almost freezing to death attending the Patriots celebration parade after a super bowl win. Their response to any plans was "Let's do it" and shortly after they moved into their first apartment together.

It was the day before they were set to move into their apartment together when Lisa noticed they were so busy and happily enjoying each other's company but never made their relationship official. Lisa was at work when she sent Carlos a text asking, "So what are we?". Carlos did not respond. An hour later he showed up at her job with a surprise. It was Lisa's favorite ice cream cake with the question "Will you be my girlfriend?" written on it. Along with a polaroid of them together and a bouquet of her favorite roses.

Lisa and Carlos were working hard on accomplishing their goals together! Getting new cars, adopting two ferrets and most importantly going through police academies. One morning Carlos woke up and as he laid next to both his girlfriend and stepdaughter, Airi he realized "This is what I want" That same day he went to the store and picked out a ring. On September 8th, Lisa got out of academy and Carlos asked her to get dressed and ready for a casino night. Before heading out of the house he handed Lisa a blindfold and told her there was a surprise. They got into the car and Carlos drove while Lisa sat in the passenger's seat blindfolded. They arrived at their destination, Carlos helped Lisa out of the car and guided her up a few steps. Lisa had no idea where they were or what was going on. When it was time, Lisa removed her blindfold and saw that she was in her grandma's kitchen surrounded by both of their families. There were decorations everywhere and a cake on the table with the question, "Will you marry me?" Carlos got down on one knee and proposed. After Lisa said yes Carlos then went over to Airi, he got down on one knee with another ring and asked her if she would accept him as her stepfather.

One night on snapchat I came across a picture Carlos posted. He immediately looked very familiar to me, and I decided to write to him to ask. He responded and told me how he worked mall security and how he always sees me around. From there we continued to text. When I was working and walking around the store Carlos would meet me and we would walk together and help each other's shift go by. I asked Carlos to hang out outside the mall a few times and he always had an excuse. One night I wanted to go to a bar for some drinks and decided to try asking him one last time to come out. Surprisingly he agreed. We went to a bar down the street and talked for hours. From there we were together just about every day. A while after dating, Carlos admitted he used to see me around when we were both in college. He even asked a friend of his about me. Then when we were both working security, he used to go to Target to see if I was working, If I was there, he would walk around to try and get my attention. (Which worked) and led me to notice him on my social media. As I always say, "He set me up!"

I was on walking patrol for Holyoke Mall Security, minding my business, when I entered Target for refreshments/snacks for work. At some point as I walked around Target, a Target security employee later identified as Lisa had very wandering eyes and noticed me. My assumption was she gazed upon my muscular frame, tattoos and half dimpled smile where she got lost in a trance. She could not control herself and realized she had me on Snapchat. Lisa noticed me while I barely paid any mind to her. As she stalked me on Snapchat she slid right into my DM's (very bold move I may say) and said "I feel like I know you from somewhere. As we continued to speak for the next few days she invited me out for drinks which I was very hesitant at first to accept. I ended up going and we actually had a great time. It was at this point I realized I Fu**ed UP!!. Now 5 years later, a daughter, house, and forever memories that we will continue to make. I wouldn't change anything if I could go back in time.
