Although Fidelia & Paul went to high school together, they didn’t really know each other until Paul asked Fidelia on their first date to the movies a year after graduation, in the summer of 2019. While it showed promise, it ultimately went nowhere—cue Fidelia heading back to college in Austin and life moving on, both completely unaware of what was still to come. Two years later, enter the summer of 2021. During Fidelia’s junior year of college, the universe decided it was time for a redo, (with a little push from longtime friend/groomsman Rogelio, who consistently described Paul as “a good egg” to Fidelia). The couple reconnected and went on their second first date—this time at Topgolf, where they both realized that this time around may be different. This date proved far more successful than the first attempt, and a friends trip to Tulum shortly after made it clear this time was serious. By August 2021, they made things official. The next phase included a year of long distance, countless calls, travel weekends, and mastering the art of missing each other. After Fidelia graduated college, they got their first apartment together in Downtown Dallas in December 2022. In May 2023, Sunny joined their family and they navigated through pet parenthood. In December 2024 they bought their first home to make great memories in. The couple enjoyed their time by traveling the globe. Naturally, Paris was the place where Paul proposed—after 4.5 years together and during Fidelia’s 26th birthday trip—proving once and for all that the second first date was the one that really counted. Proof that God's timing is everything- Fidelia and Paul can’t wait to celebrate their love and new life together with all of their friends and family!
