It all really started when Matt was on a backpacking trip in Alaska with a boy scout troop (it's relevant I promise!). One of them cut their hands badly and they had to get him into the closest town to fly out for stitches. In that little town he tried his first ever bulletproof coffee. Fast forward to the fall of 2016, Matt and a buddy were road tripping down the coast from Alaska and looked up cafes with bulletproof coffees and low and behold, perfectly pressed juice bar in Seaside CA popped up and I just so happened to be working as the most handsome man I've ever seen walked through the doors! We ended up hanging out for one day and then he was bound for Tennessee; I didn't think it would be possible to ever see him again. However, Matt started messaging me two months later and we began talking on the phone every night. That Thanksgiving break I can remember talking to my mom and telling her Matt just might be the one. He ended up coming back to Monterey for a week and asked me to go with him to Alaska! We have been with each other ever since. We started out on a work share farm in Moab, UT helping to grow garlic, basil, and bell peppers and spending the other part of our time exploring the area. We then went to Valdez, AK for the summer where we both were certified to clean up oil spills. Matt worked on a Salmon fishing boat and I worked at one of the 5 restaurants, the Roma Italian Kitchen. After the cold, we transplanted to Kailua Kona, HI and had an interesting experience working on a coffee farm. We ended up running away after a month to find our own place where we stayed for the next year. We flew back into CA, got Matt's truck, and set off toward Chattanooga. Despite all of the travel we have done, we have been the absolute happiest in Chattanooga and love our friends and community we've built in the past 2 years. Our past has been fun and exciting but we are so excited for this new chapter in our lives; I think its the best yet to come!
