It all started with a swipe. On a dreary March day in 2023, Mike opened his online dating profile determined to delete it after a few years of not-so-stellar online matches following his divorce. He had to hit pause on that intention though when he signed in and saw Kim's smiling face next to his list of recent likes. He was even more surprised to read her profile description. She actually seemed normal and pretty cute and witty. They went on a couple of amazing first dates, the type you dream about where conversation flows freely and the time seems to fly like you have known each other forever . . . even with Mike telling Kim about his 1,200 volume comic book collection and running into one of his ex-girlfriends on their second date. Unfortunately, life intervened, and Kim had to travel back to Texas to be with family as her dad succumbed to a long, hard battle with cancer. When she returned to Little Rock, Kim was not sure she was in the right headspace to date despite our obvious connection. Luckily, Mike's friend, Amy Barrett, was not one to let him just let Kim walk away as she realized how special our connection was and how great we would be together. With her support, Mike told Kim that he wanted her to be in his life even if it was just as friends and quickly integrated her into his friend group . . . often with Krista Smith there as Kim insisted to her that we were just friends. Quickly, Kim knew what Mike knew all along. We were not destined to be "just friends." And the rest was history. Through a combined love for living life to the fullest, a bit of bourbon, and a new love of soccer for Kim, we became each other's go-to person, navigating life hand in hand. In a time of both hard things and beautiful things, the one thing we were consistently sure about was each other. With Mike's two kids (Tripp and Aubrey) and our pack of dogs (2 labs and a Great Dane), we have made countless memories, many alongside our wonderful family and friends -- that's you! Ask us what we love about each other, and Kim will say that Mike has a way of making her feel safe and supported while also filling her life with laughter. Mike, on the other hand, will say that, despite her sense of adventure (seriously - Chad, Africa, for a month?), Kim truly sees and understands him and always makes him feel loved. Together, we have discovered that the best memories are the ones we create together, and we feel so grateful to have found each other. Finally. Join us on Petit Jean Mountain -- a place incredibly special to Kim and her family -- as we say "I do" in a breathtaking setting and start the next phase of our life together. We are so excited to share this day with those who have been a significant part of our journey!
