FAQs

Question

Didn't you already get married?

Answer

We did! This ceremony is a convalidation in the Catholic Church, which is meaningful to us and honors Lex's Nani (Grandma), who played such a big role in her faith growing up. Afterward, we’ll celebrate with a reception.

Question

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Answer

Dressy Casual Garden Attire First and foremost, we do NOT want you to break the bank or feel any pressure when it comes to attire. But we would like to see all our guests have fun and express themselves in a beautiful, bright garden of colors! Be comfortable and dress to the nines however you see fit.

Question

CAN I TAKE PICTURES DURING THE CEREMONY?

Answer

We ask that you please refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony.

Question

What is a convalidation ceremony?

Answer

A convalidation is the Catholic Church’s blessing of a marriage that was previously celebrated civilly. It allows our marriage to be recognized sacramentally in the Church.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Absolutely! We look forward to celebrating with family and friends of all ages. Please note that while children are welcome, the reception will include explicit music as the night goes on, so parents may want to plan accordingly.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony there will be a gap of time before the reception starts, this is due to the 4 PM mass that occurs every Saturday at Sacred Heart. There are plenty of options near the church to get a drink or a light bite to pass the time. Please join us for the reception with drinks, dinner, dessert, music, and celebration.

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

If your invitation includes a “and Guest” or your guest’s name is listed, you are welcome to bring a guest. Please make sure to include their name when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly. If your invitation is addressed to you only, we kindly ask that you RSVP for yourself. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

What time does the reception start?

Answer

The reception will start with a cocktail hour beginning at 5:30, doors to the cocktail hour/reception space will open then.
