We Doing This Orr What?

Our story began in Summer 2011, when Emily was the first to click attending on Eric’s end-of-the-school-year bonfire for our high school theatre group. Eric could sense Emily’s logistical skills from her prompt RSVP on the page and asked her to help plan the event. After a full day at the beach, our connection grew stronger as we learned about common interests like our love for 80s music. And after another outing with friends to Legoland, Eric asked Emily out on a date to the Rainforest Cafe. He sealed the deal by using his Safari Club Membership to score some free mozzarella sticks, and the rest, as they say, is history. Over the next four years, we visited back and forth between UC Davis and USC, always making time for weekend camping trips, sorority/fraternity events, and music festivals. In the years since college graduation, we've travelled all over the world, seen hundreds of concerts, and grown into exciting careers hand-in-hand. An average evening in our Pasadena home sounds like impromptu dance parties in the music studio, smells like smash burgers or soufflé in the kitchen, and looks like one more episode of our favorite show before sleep. We've had a lot of time over these past months to dream of once again hosting parties, planning travel, and of course finally tying the knot.

After years (yes, YEARS) of planning, conspiring and collaborating with friends, and finding the right words to say, Eric popped the question in the gardens of Claude Monet's home in Giverny. Emily obviously said YES. Emily suspected she might be coming home from the three week French road trip with a sparkly souvenir, but didn't expect Eric to be able to hide a ring from her the entire trip. Even with a couple close calls, the proposal was a huge surprise, and we celebrated with friends, champagne, and L'As Du Fallafel on the Seine.
