FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. We suggest cocktail or full length dresses for women and suit and tie for men.

Question

Do you have any trusted babysitters in the area?

Answer

If you need a reliable babysitter while you are at our wedding, please contact Corinne for some options! We want to help make it possible for you to come celebrate with us!

Question

What is the parking like at the church?

Answer

To get to the church parking lot, put 825 Madison Avenue, Baltimore, MD into your GPS app, not Eutaw Street. There are about 30 spots in the parking lot, so if they are full, you can park on Madison Ave or Orchard St. or in the parking garage for UMMC adjacent to the church. It costs $5 to park in the garage.

Question

What time should I arrive for the Mass?

Answer

At least 20 minutes before the Mass begins. Since city traffic is unpredictable, and parking and seating is limited in the church, please plan to arrive with ample time to find parking and a seat before the Mass begins.

Question

What makes Mount Calvary Church unique?

Answer

Mount Calvary is a Catholic Church, but it is a part of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. This is a new national structure, similar to a diocese, that was created canonically by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012 for former Anglican communities and clergy seeking to become Catholic. These communities retain many aspects of their Anglican heritage, liturgy and traditions, but they are fully Catholic, subscribing to all the doctrines of the Catholic Church, and obedient to the See of Rome in the office of the Pope. Question

Can any Catholic receive Communion at Mount Calvary?

Answer

Yes. The only requirements are those that apply with any Catholic Mass: 1) Being in the state of grace, and 2) Having fasted for one hour. Reception of Communion on the tongue is an ancient and honored practice in both the Divine Worship and the Roman Rite. Since the host is dipped into the Precious Blood at Mount Calvary (called intinction), reception of communion in the hand is not possible.

Question

What is different about the Mass at Mount Calvary?

Answer

"Divine Worship" is a form of the Roman Rite of the Latin Catholic Church that highlights the beauty of the faith through its unique patrimony. In substance, it's the same Mass used in other Latin Catholic Churches. Yet the Vatican has authorized this liturgy that uses, among other things, rich liturgical English and ad orientem worship. "Divine Worship" is immediately accessible to Catholics while at the same time offering an enriching and broadening experience through the depth of its prayers and the breadth of its form. "Divine Worship" is older than the Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form), as it is based on a 1549 liturgy that has roots in the Sarum Rite of Medieval England.

Question

What can we do between the wedding and the reception?

Answer

There are plenty of options both in Baltimore and Annapolis! Please see the "Things to Do" page for a list of places we recommend and places to eat/drink nearby!
