Midway Swiss Days Festival
Event Start 8:00 AM on on Aug 30, 2019 Event End 8:30 PM on on Aug 31, 2019 Swiss Days in Midway offers a wide variety of handmade items, antiques and fine art. The occasional dirndl, flower hair wreath and alpine hat could be seen among the crowds, but strollers, flip-flops and sunblock ruled the town square. Residents say that even with the massive crowds, the two-day event is really about a tight-knit community that comes together in the name of heritage and showing neighboring cities a good time. About 2,000 people from Midway and surrounding towns volunteer their time to make the event a reality. Organized by the Midway Boosters, the event was home to 190 different booth vendors this year — all of which had to earn a plot in the town square through a jury selection. Headbands, housewares, artwork and crafts were available, as were Swiss tacos, ham and Swiss cheese sandwiches and scones the size of Frisbees.
Heber Valley Trails
The mountains and hillsides surrounding Heber Valley contain a multitude of great Utah hiking trails through forests and meadows. Several trails make for the perfect day-hike while others are more suitable for an overnight backpack adventure. Scenic Excursions in Heber Valley
Some of Utah’s best activities lie within the boundaries of the Heber Valley. Several paved and dirt roads travel in all directions from Heber Valley through alpine meadows and forested canyons, crossing rocky ridges and meandering streams. Don't forget your camera to capture incredible views and your binoculars to get a good look at the variety of wildlife that inhabit these mountains. Mirror Lake, Strawberry Valley, Provo Canyon, and the Alpine Loop are all paved drives and recommended for any type of vehicle. Guardsman Pass, the Adventure Highway, and Cascade Springs are dirt roads and conditions vary.
