Our story began with a conversation between two strangers, on what was supposed to be a group hike. Somewhere between the walking and the talking, God quietly turned an ordinary moment into an extraordinary beginning. At the time, Oreoluwa didn’t realize that Sarah and her sister were not the same person. Since he was friends with her sister’s boyfriend, respect—and a strong sense of “bro code”—kept him at a distance. When the hike ended, though no longer strangers, we went our separate ways. Two years later, God brought clarity with one important realization: Sarah and her sister were, in fact, two different people. Through prayer, Oreoluwa knew almost immediately that he had found his wife. So he determined to pursue Sarah with intention. For a year and a half, we built a friendship rooted in faith, trust and ridiculous laughter. From that steady foundation, love naturally blossomed. We walked through a beautiful season of courtship, learning each other’s hearts and choosing one another daily despite our differences. Then, with great anticipation and a calm confidence Oreoluwa proposed. What began as a misunderstanding became a testimony of patience, timing, and God’s perfect plan. We are deeply grateful for the journey that led us here and cannot wait to begin this next chapter—together.
