Let's Celebrate!

It may come as no surprise that we met using an app. What may surprise you is that we met on Ora's last day on the app and Andy's first day. Ora was ready to call it quits and Andy was ready to dive right in. We both swiped right and started chatting and haven't stopped since.

The engagement ring that Ora has is actually the second ring that Andy bought. The first ring was a grey diamond that Ora had had her eye on. Unfortunately after inspecting the ring with Andy's keen microbiologist eyes, he spotted a flaw and was forced to return it. The ring was non-refundable but after several phone calls and blown up pictures, the jeweler gave a refund and a credit. The second ring came just in time.

Ora hadn't seen her mom in almost 5 months thanks to the pandemic. On July 3rd 2020, she was being released from the hospital and going back to the nursing home. Ora wanted to keep her mom for a few hours and give her a chance to see some family before going back. Andy wanted to make sure that Ms. Jackie could be a part of this special moment. While packing a bag for Ms. Jackie, Andy popped the question. Ora said yes and was excited to be able to share the news with her mom in person and then have her share the news with her sisters...for Ora...because that's what mom's do.
