Let us take you back to the very beginning, this being the year 2009. Alissa, age 11, would spy on the cute boy (Ian, also age 11) across the street. Little did they know, 16 years later, they would be getting married. The first time Ian and Alissa spoke was 2010. Alissa (making the very first move), introduced herself to Ian, this was 6th grade. Fast forward to 8th grade, Ian and Alissa had a class together and shared a few “hi’s” now and then. They then started high school & became very good friends. Ian asked Alissa if she wanted to “make things official” & they started dating for a short period of time their Freshman year. Even though they were only together for a short time, they still texted one another - all day, everyday. This led them to get back together in 2014, which was their Junior year of high school. (Yes, they texted each other everyday for 2 years.) After high school, Alissa & Ian did “long-distance” for 1 year. When we say long-distance, this was from Watertown to Oshkosh, a 1-ish hour drive. All of which felt like long-distance to them. Ian couldn’t stay away and applied to the same college as Alissa. Junior year of college, Ian and Alissa moved into their first apartment & have lived together ever since. During this time, they adopted their fur-baby Beau & become a fam of 3 :) August 3rd 2024, Ian asked Alissa to go for a walk in the woods. They came upon a tree which Ian had carved their initials into, surrounded by a heart & (in Ian’s own words) “ya boy got on one knee.” Ian and Alissa can’t wait to add to their story with all the love of their friends and family on September 27th, 2025!
