It all began with a persistent Instagram message from Adedeji, which sat in my DM requests for what seemed like forever—months, maybe even a year. Despite never accepting his request or replying to him, he remained consistent and patient. In July 2023, while in law school in Lagos, I went through a tough breakup. A serious talking stage ended with a lengthy list of reasons why the person couldn't date me, leaving me devastated and heartbroken. Those reasons were literally me just being myself. My self-esteem took a hit, and I felt lost. Shortly after, I posted a video of my niece on my Instagram story. Adedeji, who had been in my DMs for so long, was the first to comment. On a whim, I decided to acknowledge his message, and from that simple interaction, everything changed. Adedeji turned out to be the sweetest, kindest, and most sacrificial person I could ever imagine. He consistently went out of his way to make me happy and loved me for exactly who I was—embracing all the reasons the previous person had rejected me. Without even knowing about my past heartbreak, he showed me an intentional love that was pure and genuine. We both had multiple confirmations that our union is meant to be, and I am overjoyed to marry the one God sent to me. Adedeji's love has been a blessing, and we can't wait to begin this new chapter of our lives together.❤️
