So really. It's not the most conventional way of meeting someone but I swiped right and sent the first message. Then the rest is history. We went on our first date to Mellow Mushroom and then we went to see a movie about sharks, Blake's least favorite thing, but he only let it slide since it was the first date. Now, he doesn't let any scary movie slide unfortunately for me. Not long after that, we spent every holiday together and every weekend, and somewhere along the way, we fell in love. Now we've spent over a year together, needless to say, Bumble worked out pretty well for the two of us.
It was a date that started like any other when he comes to Dalton. He comes to get me at my house, we struggle to find something to eat, then we go see some movie we mutually agree on, sometimes. So then it’s about 2:30 in the afternoon, and Blake drives up. We drive to Dalton, but then we bypass the movie theatre. That’s when I start to get suspicious of this plan. We drive into downtown Chattanooga and we pull into our usual parking lot. In my head, I’m thinking of what kind of plan must be going down. We go to see Last Christmas, which had a whole lot of Wham! But then we walk out of the theatre, Blake takes my hand and walks me through all of the important spots, like where we had our first kiss but then he continued and we walked to where Blake first saw me. Then he got down on one knee with a ring in his hand. The proposal was simple and sweet, exactly what I expected. It was perfect and I cannot wait to become an Opperman in 2021.
