A modern day love story, we swiped right, he sent some cheeky line about playing with my hair, and I was hooked.
After about of month of "so what are we" and "do you think you want a relationship" "are you gonna ask me to be your girlfriend" Kaleb decided to ask me after I had taken the biggest most unladylike bite of my Braum's burger. And after a few seconds of trying to not make fool out of myself, I said "Yeah" with a mouth full of food.
I thought I was dying after the month long wait to become his girlfriend, let me tell you about the THREE YEAR wait to get this ring on my finger. I thought surely 2019 was my year, it had to happen then we had already had so many discussions about it, but the year came and went. 2020, of course it was our year, he was graduating college and set to find a job short after... but then the pandemic, even though I still held out hope I knew more wait was coming. February 2021, I realized it was going to happen soon and even though I had complained and pushed I was glad Kaleb held his ground, he knew we both had growing to do. Despite my want to marry this man I had not taken the time to see the big commitment I was wanting to rush to. After many conversations of what we want from life and where we wanted to be I knew we were finally ready. On March 7, 2021, the first day of our Grand Canyon trip, Kaleb and I were taking a picture when he asked for one more picture, I thought it was odd but went with it, when I turned towards him he was on one knee and asking me to be his wife. I believe I said yes before the question even came out of his mouth.
Thank you to our families and friends for always being here for, accepting, and loving us. We love you all and cannot wait to celebrate with y'all.
