If you’re traveling all this way, we hope you’ll take the opportunity to explore a bit of the Pacific Northwest. September is one of the BEST times of year here there is plenty to see and do before or after the wedding. 🏙️ City-Focused — Seattle Food, coffee, waterfront walks, museums, shopping, and neighborhoods worth wandering. 🍷 Wine-Focused — Lake Chelan Arrive in Seattle, pick up a rental car, and head east to Lake Chelan. Spend the afternoon enjoying lake views, wineries, and late-summer weather. Overnight in Chelan. 🌲 Outdoor-Focused — Mount Rainier Area Arrive in Seattle and drive toward Mount Rainier National Park for scenic views, hiking, or simply soaking in the landscape. Overnight nearby. 🏔️ Mountain Town — Leavenworth Fly into Seattle and drive to Leavenworth (about 2–2.5 hours). A charming mountain town tucked into the Cascade foothills, Leavenworth is known for its alpine scenery, walkable downtown, and relaxed pace. Expect good food, wine tasting rooms, cozy shops, and beautiful river and mountain views — especially lovely in September. 🏈 For Sports Fans If you’re in Seattle on September 19, the University of Washington has a home football game at Husky Stadium — widely considered one of the most beautiful settings in college football, right on the water. Go Dawgs! ⚾ Seattle Mariners Baseball During most Septembers, the Seattle Mariners are wrapping up their season, with games often played in the weeks leading up to & around the wedding. Exact dates for 2026 will be confirmed closer to the season, but plan for regular-season baseball action in mid- to late September. ⚽ Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) The MLS season typically runs through late October, & home matches may fall around your visit if the schedule aligns. 🏒 Seattle Kraken (NHL) / Seattle Storm (WNBA) While hockey & professional women’s basketball schedules aren’t finalized yet, check closer to September if you’re staying longer.
