We met through a mutual family member; sort of like “a blind date”. When we met, we were astonished at how much we had in common and soon realized we were what we had both been waiting for. We decided to date long distance due to living in two different states and with God, trust, and a whole lot of love, we built the beautiful relationship we have today.

Our proposal happened at home. That day, Ike called my brothers in Nigeria over skype, after letting them know prior to that time that he would propose. During the skype video call and while I was wondering why he had called them so late in the day, he told me he just wanted us to talk to them casually but he actually just wanted them to be present for the proposal. While I was on the phone with them, I turned around and he was on his knees with the ring in his hand and I burst into tears. I was getting to marry my best friend and I couldn’t think of anything more blissful.

Two years into our relationship, we got engaged and we were ready to celebrate but then the pandemic happened and we had to put everything on hold. We had our court wedding on August 20th, 2020 and on August 26th, 2021, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl: Uchenna Nora Egbukwu. She came into this world weighing 8lbs, 5oz and with a full head of hair. She looks just like her father: according to many who have met her. She is bubbly, active, smart and has a big personality. God has been so good to us and we are so happy to be where we are today. We have decided to finally have our wedding and we will love you to celebrate with us. We cannot wait to see you!!
