23RD March, 2024

Our Love Story March 23rd, 2024, was meant to be just another beautiful day—a celebration of little Kayla’s first birthday. But as fate would have it, it became the day my life changed forever. I was sitting with my friends—Kelechi, Nnamdi, Kene, and Obinna—enjoying the evening when, out of nowhere, my eyes landed on her. A stunning, graceful woman, effortlessly moving through the crowd, making sure her friends were taken care of. She had no idea how mesmerizing she looked in that moment. I couldn’t help but admire her. What a lovely creature, I muttered to my friends. They barely acknowledged my excitement, even teasing me about looking elsewhere. But I knew. I knew there was something about her. Without hesitation, I sprang into action. As the celebrant’s uncle, I had the privilege of pulling a few strings. I discreetly arranged for special drinks and food to be sent to her table, hoping to catch her attention. But to my surprise, she never even noticed. Still, I wasn’t deterred. I watched, waiting for the perfect moment. As she and her friends prepared to leave, I saw my chance. I turned to my sister, Adoha, and asked about this enchanting woman. Sandra, she said. "She’s my colleague." I looked at her and simply said, "You have to introduce us." And just like that, as if the stars aligned, I found myself standing 'coincidentally' beside my sister as Sandra walked past. Adoha made the introduction, and when I asked for her number, she gave it to me without hesitation. That was the moment my heart knew—this was only the beginning. Three days later, on March 26th, I reached out to Sandra, hoping to strike up a conversation. She agreed to talk, but when I called later that day, she was busy. I’ll call you back, she said. That call never came. For weeks, I debated whether to try again or take the hint. But Adoha encouraged me, saying, "You never know—try one more time." So, on April 18th, I called Sandra again. This time, she answered, and to my delight, she was warm and engaging. We set a date, but she later texted to reschedule. 'She’s considerate', I thought, smiling to myself. When we finally met, something happened. As we talked, it became crystal clear—this wasn’t just a date. This was destiny. Sandra was everything I had ever hoped for—strong, independent, and deeply family-oriented. Despite life’s challenges, she had an unshakable drive. She was pursuing a personal training program while juggling work and running her own business. A woman after my own heart—a hard worker, ambitious, and laser-focused on her goals. That night, I met up with Obinna and Tobi and told them something I never imagined saying so soon: "I have found my wife." In the weeks that followed, Sandra became more than just someone I was dating. She became my missing piece. Where I lacked, she effortlessly filled the gaps. I had a terrible sense of fashion—she made sure I dressed well. I was terrible at follow-ups—she reminded me to do the needful. She taught me self-care, self-love, and what it truly meant to be cared for. Sandra loved me in a way I had never experienced before—pure, selfless, and unwavering. And that is why I love Sandra Obianuju Ohams so deeply and why I will spend the rest of my life cherishing her.
