Let’s Get Married!

We met as many couples in this day and age do, dating apps. More specifically, Hinge. After Michael asked Mandi, "Are you really a Filipino Jew?" Mandi just had to message back. A cute Jewish boy in the bible belt? Too good to be true. They got to talking and found out they had more in common. They share a birthday, had similar goals for their future, and similar values. They decided to go on their first date to an Italian restaurant called Sprezza in Dallas, and the rest is history.

"You Plan and God Laughs" is something Mandi's grandmother always reminds her. That is exactly what happened with the proposal. After months and months of Mandi asking Michael when it was going to happen, she would eventually find out that COVID would push it back even further. While Michael originally planned to propose at their "Early Birthday Party", something that he and their parents had been planning for weeks, Mandi got sick at the very worst time and they had to cancel. Michael scrambled together a new plan. He asked Mandi, once she was feeling better, to go to dinner at Bob's Steakhouse with some friends. When they arrived, they were told it would be a 40-minute wait and to go to The Owners Box Restaurant next door to wait. Mandi was very confused, walking further into the restaurant and into a private event space. When they opened the door, Michael surprised her with her family and friends and he got down on one knee. They never did get Bob's but a new shiny engagement ring and a night with family and friends is even better!
