we did the damn thing!

to start this story, we have to go back all the way to 2012. Sam just moved to the small town of Cameron, and the moment Lance set eyes on her in the hallways of C.H. Yoe High School, he was sold. It took him about a year to make a move, with his initial contact being a Twitter DM that said, “so you really wanna go dove hunting???” (spoiler alert: he never took her dove hunting). From that moment on, they were attached at the hip. There were a many late nights spent backroading, hunting, and working animals into the wee hours of the morning at the show barn. Six months into their relationship, Lance bought Sam an interlocking hearts ring because he knew she was the one. **this will be important later!** This ring became a symbol of their love and dedication and regardless of the trials they faced, they could conquer anything as long as they were together. 8 years worth of memories later, Sam & Lance have traveled the country together, bought their first house & added two furry pups to the family. In June of this year, they started the next chapter of their story when Lance proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Vegas! If you know Lance, you know he is the most forgetful person in the ENTIRE world, so it is only fitting that when they go to the terminal to fly out to Vegas, Lance remembers that he left the ring in the truck in the parking lot of the airport!!! With only 30 minutes until boarding, there was no time to go back. At this point, Lance thought there was no way he was going to be to propose. Fast forward to the top of the Eiffel Tower, Lance is pacing around & acting super off. “He must be scared of the height because he forgot the ring.” Sam thought to herself. After 10 minutes of Lance acting super weird, he finally drops to one knee and pulls out that 7 1/2 year old, bent and dingy interlocking hearts ring. Sam obviously said yes & cried her eyes out for the next hour, and the rest is history 🥰
