What if my accommodations do not offer airport transportation?

What area should guests stay in Playa Del Carmen?

Answer

Guests should ideally book for the designated wedding resort, Hotel Riu Playacar, which lies in the gated community of PlayaCar. Playacar is approximately a 40 minutes taxi from Cancun International Airport. If guests are looking for more up a up-scale resort, we recommend staying at the Royal Hideaway Playacar (right next door to Hotel Riu Playacar - where wedding shuttles will depart from) or at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, which is only a 5 minute taxi to the home base resort. Please coordinate with the resort for your shuttle to and from the airport. They will send transportation in which you will find outside of the airport by the taxi shuttle services.

How do I find my hotel shuttle once leaving the airport?

Answer

If you scheduled pickup with Hotel Riu Playacar after landing, leave the airport and continue walking past all the airport taxi services in the beginning where they will try and have you book with them (these can also be utilized if you didn't book in advance, it will just be a little more pricey). Once you pass all the airport taxi stands, you will find a group of already scheduled shuttles. Just simply ask someone where the Hotel Riu Playacar shuttle is and they will point you in the direction. The hotel will typically tell you to go to a certain station with a numbered section to find them.
