Their story begins like many modern relationships; a match and some messages followed by each baring their souls with some light flirting sprinkled in between. This led to conversations that continue for hours into the night. Bit by bit, they learned more about each other and realized how many things in common they had. Eventually, they decided it was worth the risk to meet in person. Aaron planned the date. A trip to the MET. He thought it would be a cute story in the future to say they met at the Met. The original plan was ambitious, he wanted to blow the Jersey girl away with all the offerings of the city. He was going to start at the Met and followed by a trip to the Museum of Natural History and ending with a nice meal at a ramen shop not far from Central Park. Little did he know that they would eventually talk for hours at the Met. Perhaps it’s because they clicked so well, or being that they were both teachers, they just loved to hear themselves talk. Either way, they never made it to the Museum of Natural History that day. Fast forward three years and a lot has changed. Aaron was always a city boy and it would have taken divine intervention to drag him away from New York City. Luckily Ju is a force of nature. Together they live in New Jersey with their adorable toy poodle Pepper. Despite these changes, one thing has been constant since they began dating. Their love and passion for each other; their willingness to do whatever to make the other happy, and their desire to grow together. Together they have tackled remote teaching, a world-wide pandemic, and many other obstacles. They do this all with determination because they know they’ll always have each other. They would be honored to have your presence at their wedding to celebrate their love.
For those who know Juliana, patience is not one of her strong suits. So when she found out that Aaron had purchased a ring, all hell broke loose. Throw a worldwide pandemic into the mix, coupled with extreme cabin fever, the result was a few months worth of non stop begging. Aaron’s job was to figure out how to surprise her when she was already expecting it. He figured the best way to surprise her was to disguise the special moment way in advance. He took a page from Christopher Nolan’s Inception and made her think it was her idea to go to Liberty State Park for a picnic and photoshoot. Aaron set it up by saying they should celebrate the end of another successful school year even with how chaotic remote learning was. He also mentioned how they went on a mini shopping spree during the Memorial Day weekend sales so it would be a nice reason to get dressed up since COVID had us all wearing sweatpants and pajamas for months. With just those two statements, the idea started to build in Juliana’s head that they should do a picnic and a photoshoot. That day, Aaron wrapped up his graduation ceremony with his kids and immediately got ready to head out and pop the question. They chose a beautiful, scenic spot by the water and set up the tripod and camera. They took photos of each other, admired the view and talked about how nice it was to just admire each other’s company. Finally, Aaron suggested they take some selfies together using the camera’s self-timer. Little did Juliana know, but Aaron didn’t set the self-timer at all, he had set it to record the video of what was about to happen. He watched as Juliana’s confusion started to grow when she didn’t hear the camera click. As she turned to ask Aaron what happened to the camera, she saw him down on one knee with the ring. As impatient as ever, Juliana said “YES,” before Aaron could even ask.
